Bourbon distilleries, horse racing, Museum Row, Whiskey Row, Churchill Downs, amazing food - this Louisville weekend trip itinerary has it all!
Many of our favorite places to stay in Louisville are in Victorian homes in historic Old Louisville. This is a vacation rental we love right off of Central Park!
A Hot Brown is a warm, baked open face sandwich consisting of a piece of bread topped with with turkey, tomato bacon, and creamy, bubbly, cheesy Mornay sauce.
The ornate Victorian mansions, flickering gas lamps, tree-covered streets, flickering gas lamps, and fountains of Belgravia Court and St. James Court are picture-perfect.
Explore Old Louisville
This cozy brewery, located in a converted Victorian, reflects the neighborhood perfectly: worn, tall dark wooden booths and patchy layered walls.
Enjoy Old Louisville Brewery
Two things Louisville loves – theater and bourbon – merge at another one of the distilleries in downtown Louisville!
We recommend the Mama’s Boy, which pairs buttermilk chicken with roasted jalapeños, pimento cheese, crunchy pickles, and a fried green tomato.
It’s hard to fit multiple bourbon distilleries into a single day because they’re all pretty spread out. So, limit yourself to two: we strongly recommend Woodford Reserve and Maker’s Mark.
