Louisville Weekend Trip Itinerary

Brown Rice

Welcome to the vibrant city of Louisville, Kentucky! Nestled along the banks of the Ohio River, this captivating destination offers a perfect blend of rich history, cultural diversity, and southern charm.

If you have three days to spend in Louisville, Kentucky, here's a suggested weekend trip itinerary to help you make the most of your time!

Many of our favorite places to stay in Louisville are in Victorian homes in historic Old Louisville. This is a vacation rental we love right off of Central Park!

Where to Stay

A Hot Brown is a warm, baked open face sandwich consisting of a piece of bread topped with with turkey, tomato bacon, and creamy, bubbly, cheesy Mornay sauce.

Tilted Brush Stroke

Stepping into this historic district is like traveling back in time to an era of opulent mansions, tree-lined streets, and a rich architectural heritage.

Explore Old Louisville

This cozy brewery, located in a converted Victorian, reflects the neighborhood perfectly: worn, tall dark wooden booths and patchy layered walls.

Two things Louisville loves – theater and bourbon – merge at another one of the distilleries in downtown Louisville!

Evan Williams Bourbon Experience

We recommend the Mama’s Boy, which pairs buttermilk chicken with roasted jalapeños, pimento cheese, crunchy pickles, and a fried green tomato.

Breakfast at Biscuit Belly

It’s hard to fit multiple bourbon distilleries into a single day (much unlike the distilleries in Louisville) because they’re all pretty spread out. So, limit yourself to two: we strongly recommend Woodford Reserve and Maker’s Mark.
